Start-up Initiative

DPA in cooperation with regional municipalities, DPA Advanced Technology Centre SQUALIO, the Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Latvia has started a new Start-up Initiative in the regions of Latvia. The aim of the initiative is to stimulate regional companies and pupils to cooperate in the field of the development of new business ideas by using modern technologies. During the initiative, there is planned to visit six regional centers of Latvia - Tukums, Talsi, Ventspils, Sigulda, Cēsis, Valmiera, and Ozolnieki - and announce the start-up idea competition for the pupils and local companies. The idea of the competition is that pupils are able to create new products and business ideas, to modernize existing processes in the real business environment – in one of the regional companies that is going to be as a mentor for the pupils. At the end of the competition which lasts 2 months, companies will be able to buy the particular idea and the author of the best business idea takes a grant to realize the idea.
